Very nice single-purpose app
I wanted something that would browse OPDS and open in my existing ebook readers, instead of getting a whole new reader. This works well enough. It handles epub, pdf and mobi fine. Unfortunately it doesnt identify comic formats like cbz and cbr, which is one big reason I downloaded it. The item info page is totally blank. Im not sure if this is a shortcoming of the app or the OPDS spec, but I would like to see this added.
Doesnt work with calibre
I add in the opds feed of my calibre server and it responds with an http 400 error. I know my calibre server is fine since it works with other software just fine.
So far so good
I rely on a personal online library, built with Calibre and OPDS. I use Calibre2opds to build the library files, and basic HTTP authentication to keep copyright trolls away. I havent found a good reader that does dpub AND pdf AND opds. Some are good at book display, or pdf support, or library search, but not all three. So this lets me use my OPDS library with any reader, even iBooks.
Simple app glues libraries to ereaders
I searched and searched for a clean and usable app to pull books and PDFs from my personal OPDS library. Good ereaders that read OPDS do not read PDFs. Those that read both cant read my library. This app lets me browse my library and read files in iBooks or any other reader. Its fast. Switching between apps is easy. I dont fill up my phone with multiple copies of books. I use Calibre2OPDS to create the readable directory and store the library on some shared Apache web space.
